Fresh, vibrant red fruit flavors show notes of plumeria, candied violet and black pepper, with a touch of cream soda. The flavors are dense and generous, but finish on a smooth, polished frame. Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Cão and Trousseau. Drink now. 900 cases made.

A throwback to red field blends of lesser known varietals from Napa Valley, this combines 32% Tempranillo, 26% Touriga and smaller amounts of Tinta Cao, Tinta Madeira and Trousseau, all organically grown. Meaty, gamy and fruity, it is high-toned and sleek on the palate, with a welcome approachability.

Like the white blend, the 2019 Chorus Cuvee Rouge is a fruit-driven effort made from an eclectic mix of varieties: 32% Tempranillo, 26% Touriga Nacional, 22% Tinta Cão, 12% Tinta Madeira and 8% Trousseau, all vinified in stainless steel, then matured nine months in old wooden uprights. Bright strawberry and raspberry notes emerge on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is juicy and fresh, with a silky feel and appealing touches of allspice and cracked pepper on the lingering finish.
