Balletto Pinot Noir 2017
|Region||California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley|
This wine starts with a delicate entry of fresh red fruit and crisp acidity. As it opens, layers of forest floor and cardamom reveal themsevles on the well-structured palate.
The 2017 Pinot Noir has a pale to medium ruby color and aromas of cherry cola, smoke, dusty earth, raspberry and strawberry pie with a touch of laurel. Medium-bodied, it has stemmy, textured tannins and juicy acidity but lacks some concentration of flavor in the mouth. 6,653 cases produced.
A minerally style, with good length to the flavors of dark cherry, smoke and dried wild berry. Chocolate and Asian spice notes show on the finish. Drink now through 2021. 6,700 cases made.
