The 2020 Beaujolais (Maison Louis Jadot) offers up generous aromas of berry fruit, plums and petals, followed by a medium-bodied, succulent palate with lively acids and powdery tannins. It concludes with a rather fleeting finish-but for 10 dollars and a little change per bottle, what more can one ask for?

Bright purple. Jammy dark fruit aromas and flavors pick up a hint of dark chocolate with air. In a plush, open-knit style, with a warm, smooth finish that betrays no tannins. This wine provides easy drinking pleasure but I'd be hard-pressed to guess that it was a Beaujolais if I were served it blind.
