Matchbook The Arsonist Chardonnay 2014Luscious and rich with a seamless integration of oak and fruit characters, Matchbook's 2014 The Arsonist Chardonnay showcases the quality of the Dunnigan Hills. We hand select the best barrel lots of our Estate Grown fruit to make this Chardonnay. Enticing aromas of creamy caramel and fresh pear mingle with nutmeg and butterscotch. Honey, Crenshaw melon and green fig bring this dense wine to life with hints of toasty oak in the midpalate. The Arsonist is big and creamy, yet welcoming in its nuanced synthesis of flavors. B-Side Cabernet Sauvignon 2013Our 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a seamless wine that features boysenberry, lavender and cassis aromas followed by toasted coriander and tobacco leaf. A burst of blackberry, black currant and dried cherry flavors are framed by hints of molasses and dark chocolate covered espresso beans. Layers of rich, dark fruit dominate, while toasty oak notes highlight the periphery. Mouth-watering tannins give this full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon depth and structure. A carefully crafted blend of primarily Cabernet Sauvignon, the addition of small amounts of Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc enhance the complexity of this wine. The fruit was picked at the peak of ripeness, resulting in rich color and balanced flavors. While the Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc add color and structure, Merlot and Malbec add soft, dark fruit flavors to round out this wine. This method offers the wine a touch of spice and vanilla, while cold fermenting the remainder to maximize a fresh fruit-forward character. Our Sonoma County Chardonnay displays aromas of baked apple, pear and citrus along with white blossom aromas. On the palate, the baked fruit and toasty brioche leads to a creamy, well-balanced finish. Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2014The 2014 Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon has a beautiful ruby-black color with a ruby red rim. Bright fruit aromas of fresh blackberry, black cherry and boysenberry along with hints of violets, leather and toasted oak fill the glass. The attack is beautifully balanced between richness and brightness with hints of roses, honeysuckle, red and blue fruit flavors. Lazy Creek Lazy Day Pinot Noir 2015Our "Lazy Day" Pinot Noir comes from Anderson Valley in Mendocino County where warm, sunny days and cool, foggy mornings and nights create the ideal microclimate for producing this wine. This sustainably-farmed, medium-bodied Pinot Noir has attractive aromas of bright red fruits, plum, berries and a hint of licorice, followed by flavors of juicy cherry with notes of cola, spice and toast on the finish.
Veuve Clicquot Brut Yellow LabelThe strength of this golden-yellow wine is immediately pleasing to the nose while its complexity explodes on the palate. The initial notes of fruit are followed by more discreet aromas of brioche and vanilla when the wine is allowed to age in the bottle. Lionello Marchesi Poggio Alla Sughere Sangiovese 2015The most famous and most noble Tuscan grape is Sangiovese - used to make all the most important wines, either "pure" or in combination with other grape varieties. The Poggio alle Sughere vineyards at Magliano in Toscana produce Sangiovese grapes vinified "pure" - leaving the must on the skins for ten-twelve days and refining the wine for several months in small oak barrels. This wine has a rather intense ruby red colour and an impressive bouquet with hints of ripe cherries. The warm, dry and well-balanced taste means that this wine is an ideal accompaniment for various meat, fish, pasta and rice dishes.
