Schramsberg Mirabelle Brut
|Region||California, North Coast|
Wine SpectatorThis bubbly is both complex and fun to drink, with lemon curd and spicy caramel aromas that lead to crisp but luscious cherry, apple and toasty vanilla flavors. Drink now. 5,190 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe non-vintage Mirabelle Brut white is sourced from Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Marin County and is made from 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir. The blend of young and older wines gives it a creamy richness, with lots of ripe peach and honeyed brioche, backed up by a medium-bodied, crisp, fresh, pure, dry sparkling wine that offers well-defined, small bubbles. This is a beauty to drink over the next few years.
Wine EnthusiastThe main difference between this and Schramsberg's more expensive, vintage-dated brut is the texture. This feels a little more scouring, lacking the silky finesse. Made from equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
