Dark red fruits on the nose, velvet tannins, with a seductive soft long finish.

Coming all from Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon spent 18 months mostly in neutral oak, with just 10% in new French oak. In a youthful style that's going to benefit from a few years in bottle, it has lots of black raspberry and redcurrant fruits, some spicy wood, and dried herb aromatics, medium to full-bodied richness, good acidity, and terrific balance. An outstanding, classy Cabernet Sauvignon, it stays tight and compact on the palate and actually reminds me more of a Cabernet from Sonoma than Napa. It's going to benefit from 2-3 years of bottle age and evolve nicely for a decade (or more). Napa Valley Cabernet at under $50? Yes, please.

This is dark in profile, but open-knit, with cherry and plum compote flavors that are approachable now, infused with light black tea and incense notes. Subtle cedar accents add structure to the finish. Drink now through 2022. 350 cases made.
