Ercavio Rosado 2018
Bright onion skin. Racy strawberry and orange zest aromas are complemented by building mineral and floral accents. Lithe and sharply focused on the palate, offering juicy red berry and floral pastille flavors that steadily deepen on the back half. The floral and mineral notes drive a long, energetic finish that leaves a refreshingly bitter orange pith note behind.
The 2018 Ercavio Rosado is a very pale Cencibel, the local strain of Tempranillo, cold fermented for two months, kept with the lees for a further two months and then bottled unoaked. It's super pale and light. I always compare it to a white, but they say they look for unctuousness. The palate is serious and silky with very tasty flavors. It's clean and elegant, really easy to drink. 70,000 bottles produced. This is their second wine in volume. It was bottled in December 2018.
