Argentiera Villa Donoratico 2016
|Region||Italy, Tuscany, Bolgheri|
Another 40/30/20/10 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot, the 2016 Bolgheri Rosso Villa Donoratico is a sophisticated wine that is full-bodied, with dark concentration and thickness. It has a nice fullness to it, with big, dark fruit. The Villa Donoratico plays its best cards in the mouth, as its texture is very rich and seductive. There is a touch of richness on the tannins, which still need to relax. You also get snap or crunchiness on close.
Beefy and dense, this red delivers plum, black cherry, sweet spice and graphite flavors on a base of dusty tannins. A bit chunky and ends on the tannic side, yet there is a lot to like here. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Best from 2021 through 2035.
Aromas of tilled soil, black plum and cedar lead the nose. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, it has a dense palate that evokes prune, licorice and clove alongside polished tannins.
