Sonoma Loeb Dutton Ranch Pinot Noir 2014
|Appellation||Russian River Valley|
Wine SpectatorSlow to build, with lighter plum, wilted rose and black cherry flavors giving way to chewy, gravelly tannins that impart traction and detail. Solid length. Drink now. 1,511 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastGrown in Green Valley, this medium-bodied wine offers heady Asian spices seasoned over tart, tangy orange and cherry. Pretty aromatics ride shotgun over a depth of earth and soft tannin and smoky oak, the wine ultimately plush and lush.
Wine AdvocateAs for the 2014 Pinot Noir Dutton Ranch, this has a similarly deep ruby/purple color and loads of cranberry and black cherry fruit. It is medium-bodied and tight, with good acidity and moderately high tannin. This is a promising wine, but again, very young, so it's hard to get a good feel for where it's going.
