Behrens Family Winery Crowley Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2012We are excited to offer the return of our Crowley Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and feel it is a fitting finale for our last vintage from this vineyard on Spring Mountain. A cherry cola, sassafras and pie crust nose leads to a gorgeous mouth-filling richness that is loaded with blackberry cordial and licorice. This is mountain muscle that is also fat, lush and sexy, and beautifully balanced. Menthol and spice round out the lingering finish of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Shafer Hillside Select Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Hillside Select is a wine of a place, produced each vintage from carefully selected blocks of the hillside vineyards surrounding the winery. These grapes are small and deeply colored, with concentrated flavors enhanced by meticulous winemaking and extensive aging in French oak barrels. Hillside Select consistently expresses the voluptuous fruit, rich flavors and velvety texture that characterize grapes grown in Stags Leap District.
Joseph Phelps Insignia 2011The 2011 Insignia is layered with aromatics of dark fruit, cardamom, tobacco, Herbs de Provence and graphite on the nose. Fresh and lively this elegant wine boasts bright red cherry, blackberry and espresso throughout the palate with supple tannins.
La Jota Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2014On the palate, the 2014 La Jota Cabernet Sauvignon has dark chocolate, espresso, ripe blackberry, and a hint of Petit Verdot finishing with a great mid palate weight and earthy tannic structure, there is no doubt you are drinking a Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon.
Caymus Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2017Caymus Vineyards produces two Cabernets Sauvignons - a "Napa Valley" and the venerable "Special Selection". Both Cabernet bottlings have aromas and flavors which can only be achieved through "hang time" - a technique which chances the loss of crop if early winter sets in. Leaving the fruit to "hang" on the vine unusually long develops suppleness, increases color, and matures the tannins of the grapes. The wines are abundant in textural tannins yet soft as velvet. Crop thinning, allowing measured sunlight to reach the vine's fruit zone, and waiting for increased ripeness are all part of our viticultural practices. Caymus Cabernets offer a wide array of aromas and flavors including cocoa, cassis and vanilla.
Round Pond Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2014Dark fruit intrigues the taster with blackberry, cassis, and hints of lavender and bramble on the nose. On entry the fruit is crisp with lively acidity that brings a beautiful freshness. Loads of black cherry and raspberry come through on the rich, full mid-palate. Bright red berries lead in to a deeply complex and balanced finish with layers of rhubarb, pepper, roasted coffee and dark chocolate. From entry to finish, the wine builds texture and lingers on the palate with a historical nod to Rutherford dust.
