Georges Duboeuf Moulin à Vent Domaine des Rosiers 2015
|Appellation||Moulin á Vent|
Wine EnthusiastGérard Charvet took over Rosiers from his father in 1983 and remains focused on the art of vinification. A percentage (30%) of wood aging has give this ripe wine its dense texture. That contrasts with the generous black fruits that are still developing. This is a serious, dense wine that will age. Drink from 2018.
Wine SpectatorA smoky undertone marks the boysenberry, currant and grilled plum fruit in this concentrated, medium-bodied red. Savory spice and herb elements fall in line on the moderately tannic, mineral-laced finish. Drink now through 2022. 2,000 cases made.
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Moulin a Vent Domaine des Rosiers perhaps does not quite deliver the joie de vivre of the Domaine de la Vigne Romaine on the nose, this is a little more contained at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with a slightly savory entry. I wonder if there is just a tiny bit of brettanomyces here? Still, I appreciate the balance and it has a delineated and focused broody finish.
