Georges Duboeuf Morgon Domaine Jean Ernest Descombes 2015

Georges Duboeuf Morgon Domaine Jean Ernest Descombes 2015

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

This first-class Morgon features a bright garnet color and great harmony of aromas between cherry, kirsch and peach. Heady and structured, with substantial tannins, it has a rich, round and silky mouthfeel - a wine with concentrated flavors. There is great aging potential for the 2015 vintage.

Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Morgon Jean Descombes felt a little reduced on the nose, although there are attractive wild strawberry and raspberry preserve scents waiting to unfold. The palate is medium-bodied, fleshy and plum with red cherries, strawberry and a touch of orange rind. Nicely focused with a keen thread of acidity towards the finish maintaining freshness, this should turn out to be a very fine Morgon with 12-18 months in bottle.

Wine EnthusiastThe Descombes family has farmed vines in this appellation since the French Revolution and Jean-Ernest Descombes supplied one of Georges Duboeuf's first Morgon wines in 1968. The latest generation has produced a ripe and fruity wine with a balanced structure. It is dense in tannins that will soften over the next year. Drink from 2018.

Wine SpectatorBlack currant, wild tangy blackberry and smoky mineral notes are supported by grippy tannins in this well-knit red. Peppercorn and licorice details mark the juicy finish. Drink now through 2020. 1,500 cases made.
