Penner-Ash Syrah 2014
|Region||United States, Oregon|
This wine has a sweet entry full of fresh, red fruit that leads to a mid-palate weight with a lengthy and structured finish. Driven by notes of dark fruits such as red cherry, plum and boysenberry accompanied by hints of vanilla with spicy wood undertones. Fine grain tannins allow for the ability to age well.
This is a wide open, fruity wine, with upfront berry and citrus notes backed by chalky acids. It's a good, quaffable red but lacks the complex meat and compost notes often found in Northwest Syrahs.
