Carlos Serres Tempranillo Blanco 2017
The entry-level range has changed, and the white is now the 2017 Viura - Tempranillo Blanco, a 90/10 blend of the two grapes, fermented separately and kept with the lees until bottling. It has a waxy nose of apples and some fennel, with an updated classical profile. The palate is refreshing, clean and easy to drink. 65,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in December 2017.
This fresh white offers apple, pear and herb flavors that are balanced, with lively acidity that leaves a juicy finish. Refreshing. Drink now. 1,200 cases made, 1,000 cases imported.
Corn and apple aromas together smell like wheat in this uninteresting blend of Viura and Tempranillo Blanco. Its underripe citrus flavors are tart and slightly bitter, with a lightly oxidized finish.
