Rustic earth and the aromatic sparks of a rose garden open this wine, named by combining the middle names of the producer and her husband. Tight, youthful tannins hover around chocolate, strawberry and blackberry notes, resulting in a velvety texture on the expansive palate. It finishes quietly and confidently, eager to develop further in bottle; enjoy through 2023.
The 2013 Pinot Noir Georganne Vineyard comes from a vineyard on Westside Road and is planted with Merry Edward's favorite clone of Pinot Noir, UCD 37. Slightly more earthy and large-boned than her other cuvées, the wine is tannic, firm and Pommard-like in its masculinity muscle. There is a lot going on, with plenty of black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, underlying earthiness and spice. Forget this for several years and drink it over the following 15 years. This could be her Pommard Premier Cru from the Russian River.
Anchored by ripe, aromatic blackberry, wild berry and loamy black licorice notes, with floral scents and flavors, this combines density, richness and persistence. Ends with
