TintoNegro meaning "black wine" in Spanish, is meant to celebrate the essence of Malbec in Mendoza. Known for its dark, blackish color, Malbec is definitely a TintoNegro. TintoNegro wines are meant to reflect the heart and soul of Malbec in Mendoza. The portfolio explores the terroirs of Mendoza where Malbec does best, gradually isolating unique vineyard sites and winemaking techniques which can showcase the heights of concentration and complexity to which Malbec can aspire. Cold maceration for 5 days with extensive cap management techniques to extract intense aromas and mineral texture. These Limestone Lots impart a mineral texture to the wines produced here. Malbec has a wonderful affinity for co-fermentation, vinifying with small amounts of Cabernet Franc intensifies Malbec's floral character while the limestone soil profile lends finely grained tannins.

Wine AdvocateA step up in complexity and intensity, the 2015 Malbec Limestone Block is sourced from a single vineyard in the Chacayes zone where the soils are rich in limestone, hence the name. There is a little bit of Cabernet Franc here, and it's all fermented in concrete vats and matured in neutral, well-seasoned oak barrels. The palate is quite soft, with round tannins and moderate acidity. 24,000 bottles produced.
