Foxen Cuvée Jeanne Marie Williamson Doré Vineyard 2010

Foxen Cuvée Jeanne Marie Williamson Doré Vineyard 2010

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

The Williamson-Dore vineyard, planted in 1999, sits on the eastern realm of the Santa Ynez Valley, close to the entrance to Happy Canyon. The site is gently sloped to the south, with great sun exposure, and the soil is shallow, devigorating the vines and thus concentrating the fruit. Varietals grown include Syrah, Grenache, Mourvedre and Sangiovese

Wine SpectatorPure, ripe and well-defined red berry, raspberry and boysenberry flavors are supple and intense, gaining firmness and depth on the finish. Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Best from 2013 through 2022. 500 cases made.

Wine AdvocateThe Grenache-based 2010 Cuvee Jeanne Marie is another compelling wine from Foxen. The sweet, floral infused red fruit of Grenache is the dominant element in this racy, medium-bodied Rhone blend. Ideally, the 2010 is best enjoyed over the next few years, while the fruit retains its juiciness. Hints of mint, tobacco and cedar add complexity as the wine opens up. In 2010, the blend is 64% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 16% Mourvedre. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2016.

Wine EnthusiastMade in the accessible style of a southern Rhône blend, with Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre, this is the most forward of Foxen's new red wines. With jammy raspberry and cherry flavors, it's a delicious, finely structured wine to drink now.
