Bramare Lujan de Cuyo Cabernet Sauvignon 2010
|Appellation||Lujan de Cuyo|
Wine SpectatorA plush, rich red, with a velvety texture to notes of cassis, kirsch and blueberry compote. Juicy acidity lifts the minerally finish, which lingers with an aftertaste of spice, graphite and creamy fruit. 1,470 cases imported.
Wine EnthusiastThis is tight and sturdy as a rock up front, with licorice, hard spice, leather and black cherry aromas. It feels round, chewy, tough and healthy, with flavors of baked black fruit, chocolate, molasses and hickory. Roasted and oaky, but cool and collected.
Wine AdvocateThe 2010 Bramare Cabernet Sauvignon (Lujan de Cuyo) underwent a 27-day total maceration and was also raised in 18 months in French and American oak. It has a ripe black cherry, cedar and cassis-scented bouquet with flecks of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with tensile tannins and layers of ripe black cherry, black currant, pain grille and graphite, the latter strikingly evident towards the finish. It is a full-bodied, powerful Cabernet with a voluminous, decadent, alcoholic finish (15.4%). It seems - for want of a better word - lopsided. Drink 2014-2020+
