Concha y Toro Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay 2015
|Region||Chile, Limari Valley|
|Brand||Concha y Toro|
Wine SpectatorSteely and rich, with powerful flavors of dried apple, pear and allspice. Luscious honeysuckle details show midpalate, accented by notes of dried citrus on the crisp finish. Drink now through 2020. 11,000 cases made.
Wine EnthusiastOaky aromas of bacon and ham blend with vanilla on the nose of this plump, melony wine. Flavors of resiny oak, Animal Cracker cookies and melon turn overtly spicy on the finish that includes a hint of clove.
Wine AdvocateThe 2015 Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay is produced with grapes from vines planted in Limarí between 2003 and 2007 on clay and limestone soils. It fermented in oak barrels where the wine matured for one year before bottling. This is always oakier and showier than the ones from Maycas de Limarí even if the origin of the grapes is shared. There are some aromas of nuts and a hint of smoke over a core of yellow fruit. The palate is medium-bodied, quite tasty, with some fine tannins and a supple finish. 200,000 bottles produced.
