Boroli Barolo Cerequio 2005
The 2005 Barolo Cerequio is sublime. Sweet, silky tannins frame a core of fragrant red fruit. This is classic La Morra in its elegance and finesse. Medium in body, the 2005 Cerequio possesses gorgeous balance and a long, pure finish, where floral tones give the wine a sense of lift. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.
Plush, soft and redolent of smoked ham, spice, black fruit and chocolate, this expression of the Cerequio cru shows both elegance and power. The wine is well extracted, fresh and firm thanks to the high quality of its tannins and acidity. It ends with firm, cooling notes that would pair well with any meat dish. Drink after 2018.
Offers plenty of plum and sandalwood aromas that follow to a full body, with refined tannins, fresh acidity and a clean finish. Refined and balanced. I like the blended Barolo better from this producer in 2005. Best after 2010. 750 cases made.
