Wine produced with nebbiolo grapes coming from the historic vineyard Cerequio in the municipality of Barolo. This vineyard is classified as one of the best cru (1st category). The colour is deep ruby with garnet tints. The bouquet is extremely rich and complex, with notes where are dominant liquorice, goudron and truffle; on the palate the powerful structure and tannins emerge as guarantee of a long ageing of the wine. It is matured in cask for 24 months and refined in bottle for 12 months. Serving temperature is 19-20°C and it can be served with important roast meat dishes, feathered game, ripe and strong cheeses. It is excellent also after meal as meditation wine.

The 2005 Barolo Cerequio is sublime. Sweet, silky tannins frame a core of fragrant red fruit. This is classic La Morra in its elegance and finesse. Medium in body, the 2005 Cerequio possesses gorgeous balance and a long, pure finish, where floral tones give the wine a sense of lift. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2022.

Plush, soft and redolent of smoked ham, spice, black fruit and chocolate, this expression of the Cerequio cru shows both elegance and power. The wine is well extracted, fresh and firm thanks to the high quality of its tannins and acidity. It ends with firm, cooling notes that would pair well with any meat dish. Drink after 2018.

Offers plenty of plum and sandalwood aromas that follow to a full body, with refined tannins, fresh acidity and a clean finish. Refined and balanced. I like the blended Barolo better from this producer in 2005. Best after 2010. 750 cases made.
