Cave de Lugny Macon Lugny Les Charmes 2018
|Region||France, Burgundy, Maconnais|
|Brand||Cave de Lugny|
Golden yellow with green reflections in its prime youth, limpid and brilliant. Mixed floral and fruity aromas (notes of hazelnut, honey, acacia and citrus). The mouth is of great finesse, rich, ample, velvety wine with a slightly spicy flavor. Its structure gives it a special place in the Mâcon-Villages range and its style approaches that of the Crus du Mâconnais. Pairs well with poultry, soufflés, sweet and savory cuisine.
Chamisal Stainless Chardonnay 2017This complex wine exhibits classic varietal characteristics with aromas of ripe pineapple, fresh Gala apples, pear and candied lemon. The palate has a weight that belies its unoaked status with a rich entry of fresh citrus fruit that leads into secondary aromas of fig and mineral. Finishing clean and crisp with lingering acidity, the wine is fresh and vivacious with a dense mid-palate. This vintage proves that with the right grapes and winemaking, Chardonnay does not need oak or malolactic fermentation to shine.
Domaine Faiveley Bourgogne Chardonnay 2017A very nice expressive nose has white flower scents. The attack is bold and generous. This wine, which is balanced on the palate, has good volume and quite exceptional long-lasting scents and tastes for this appellation.
Heitz Cellar Napa Valley Chardonnay 2016Our Chardonnay continues to be crafted with balance and acidity, focusing on its true varietal characteristics. The nose of the 2016 Chardonnay begins with hints of Meyer lemon, pineapple, and freshly baked sweet apple tarts. The fresh fruit aroma is complemented by subtle notes of toasted hazelnut, honey suckle, and white floral characteristics. Its fresh, bright acidity pleases the palate while balanced by a smooth richness that we obtain through sur lie aging. Blending chardonnay fruit from our estate Trailside Vineyard in Rutherford and fruit from Oak Knoll AVA, all the classic chardonnay elements marry together in balance. The rich, ripe fruit character from the warmer Rutherford vineyard combined with the crisp, light acid in the grapes from the cooler Oak Knoll vineyard is what makes our Chardonnay unique. The new French oak gives the wine vanilla and baking spice flavor without overpowering the varietal flavor.
J Vineyards & Winery Multi Appellation Chardonnay 2017The wine opens with concentrated, complex fruit notes of anjou pear, golden delicious apple, mandarin orange, meyer lemon and ripe tangerine. These bright fruit notes blend seamlessly with rich hints of crème brûlée, toasted hazelnut and Tahitian vanilla, giving the palate depth and contrast. Crisp acidity is carried throughout, structured with a kiss of toasted coconut and caramel toffee on the long, full finish. Pair this exceptional chardonnay alongside chicken pot pie with celery root, roasted parsnips, rutabaga and turnips, or with a fire and ice ceviche. For a cheese pairing, try this with baked brie with persimmon chutney.
Schramsberg Blanc de Blancs 2017This 2017 Blanc de Blancs has bright aromas of Meyer lemon, golden apple, Bosc pear, marzipan and vanilla cookie, which intermingle with hints of warm pastry and cinnamon. Granny Smith apple, candied lemon, and baked pineapple bring fruitful notes to the mid- palate, ending with a long, clean and vibrant finish. While this wine can be enjoyed by itself as an apéritif, it is also perfect with fresh oysters and other shellfish, crab cakes, ceviche and grilled sea bass. It is also delicious with lemon chicken and Thai curries. Vegetable or crab quiche, vegetable terrine, Parmesan bread sticks, calamari fritters. Serve with aged Gouda or other hard cheeses, and as a counterpoint to soft triple creams. Courses might include sole, trout, sashimi, seafood mousse, veal scaloppini, roast chicken, pheasant, squab or turkey, fettucini with black olives and chives, angel hair pasta with champagne-tarragon cream sauce.
