Wine SpectatorThis red offers flavors of boysenberry, blueberry and violet, with spice and milk chocolate accents. Broad but dense on the palate, with gentle acidity and a sweet finish. Drink now through 2022. 2,000 cases made.

Wine AdvocateFrom proprietor Philippe Casteja, this is a relatively dense, masculine, deep ruby/purple-colored Pomerol that is attractive and elegant, but one suspects it could have more to it, particularly given the vintage. Certainly the terroir is one of the more highly regarded in Pomerol, sitting near L'Eglise Clinet and Clinet. Medium to full-bodied, with notes of licorice, plum sauce and black cherries, the wine has silky tannins and very good length. Drink it over the next 10-15 years.

Wine EnthusiastDry tannins from the old wood give this wine a hard edge at first. Fresh, juicy red fruits offer an enticing character. On the finish, the tannins are tough and will need several years to soften.
