Efeste Jolie Bouche Syrah 2006

We're sorry, but this product is not currently available.

It begins beautifully with minerals, black cherry, and a slightly earthy tomato leaf note (like a tomato plant on a hot summer day near an herb garden with fennel plants going to seed). The texture of the wine is elegant and focused on the attention-grabbing-pop of ripe blackberry and plum with a lingering floral finish. We make this wine with indigenous yeast and malolactic cultures; showcasing the fruit's unique location and the particular vintage.

Wine AdvocateThe purple-colored 2006 Jolie Bouche Syrah which spent 20 months in 24% new French oak. It offers up an expressive nose of cedar, incense, violets, blueberry, and blackberry. Medium to full-bodied, ripe and savory on the palate, it displays some elegance, good balance, and a fruit-filled finish. It will continue to blossom for another 2-3 years and drink well through 2018.

Wine EnthusiastLead pencil and hints of gravel come from Red Mountain fruit, with some of the welcome funk and grit in place from the Boushey Vineyard. Lovely aromas suggest violets and white pepper and hints of smoky chocolate. Smooth, tart, tasting of cherry and berry.
