Hogue Gewurztraminer 2014

Hogue Gewurztraminer 2014

SKU 7852

During the grape growing season, Eastern Washington boasts warm summer days followed by cool nights, ensuring that grapes ripen fully while retaining ample natural acidity. "Gewürz" means "spice" in German. True to its name, our Gewürztraminer offers up varietal spiciness, along with intense aromas and flavors of lychee, tangerine, orange, peach, melon, apple, honey, and cream. It has an excellent balance of sweet, rich fruit and crisp acidity, along with a slight minerality. Restrained and off-dry, our Gewürztraminer is excellent with Southeast Asian dishes. Serve with Thai coconut milk curries or pork skewers with a peanut-ginger dipping sauce. It also pairs well with sausages and sauerbraten.

Wine EnthusiastThis wine is still settling in, with tiny bubbles coating the glass. The aromas of spice, flowers and lychee are vibrant and the palate drinks dry, showing plenty of richness and intensity.
