Colour: Impenetrable intense ruby red. Aroma: Cherry and wild black cherry, blueberry and cocoa. Flavour: Definitely sweet, velvety and creamy with a spicy aftertaste. Serving Suggestions: Dark chocolate with 60-65 % cocoa, plain cakes and pastries, ripe, strong and blue cheeses, meat pâté, but for the gourmets also in thin soup noodles in consommé and in pigeon soup.

The 2003 Recioto della Valpolicella Argille Bianche is made in an opulent, generous style, with tons of jammy dark fruit, chocolate, spices, herbs and tar that flow from its sweet, long frame. The wine offers terrific depth and just enough plumpness to balance the firm 2003 tannins that lurk beneath. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2013.
